AmerisourceBergen will become Cencora in 2023

Today, AmerisourceBergen and Alliance Healthcare announced their intent to change their names to Cencora and unite under a new, shared company name and brand. Connecting these teams under a global brand is part of AmerisourceBergen’s strategy to become the leading pharmaceutical services organization globally, offering an extended reach and integrated capabilities across a significantly broader geography.

Now is the right time for AmerisourceBergen and Alliance Healthcare to unify organizations under a single name and brand to support our strategy and commitment to creating healthier futures, being a partner of choice, and expanding access to pharmaceutical services worldwide.

Our commitment to you

ICS is part of the AmerisourceBergen family of companies. While our parent company name will be changing to Cencora, the ICS name will remain in use and there will be no change in how we support you.

Cencora will combine all of our shared commitment to pharmaceutical access and innovation with industry-leading solutions and globally competitive capabilities. This means that our ability to partner and innovate with you, paired with our geographic reach, will be unsurpassed, along with an expanded network of global pharmacy and provider customers.

What to expect next

Today we are merely sharing the intent of AmerisourceBergen to change its name as a courtesy to you, however there will be no immediate changes or updates over the coming months. We anticipate that our parent company name “AmerisourceBergen” will change to “Cencora” later in 2023. Please be assured this name change and any impacts will happen over time, in carefully planned, controlled phases and communicated well in advance.

Visually, we carry the AmerisourceBergen name in our logo, and so naturally this will be updated over time as we transition to Cencora. I reiterate that the ICS name will remain.

To be specific: there are no changes to your contract(s) or the way in which we interact together, and your Account Manager will remain the same. No name changes will occur on any paperwork, digitally or otherwise and the same applies to any other assets that you use today.

This is an exciting new chapter for our organizations and most importantly, we are eager to continue to partner with you as you serve your patients, as we work to make pharmaceutical care accessible around the world.
